Statement of Intent

I intend to produce two magazine front covers and two context pages paired with each other which offers information and entertainment based around the music industry to my target audience of 16-25 year olds.

Through my pre-production research I investigated the themes and common topics explored through nusic magazines and that audiences enjoy interacting with information about artists so therefore meant his would be included on both my front covers and context pages to reinforce my models star persona and align with the conventions of music magazines. I will also feature competitions and links to social media pages along with a variety of shot types to appeal to my target audience and allow them to engage with the content. I also intend to feature a tease to a collab with the famous fashion brand ‘H&M’ as this is a highly popular brand amongst the 16-29 year old demographic and through this Intertextual reference, will reinforce the targeted demographic and increase the likelihood of my magazine being engaged with the target demographic. I will also include several pop-culture references in my contents pages to ensure they are relevant and interesting to the audience such as reference to Taylor Swifts tour that will be taking place during the dated publication of my magazine.

I will create a website that reinforces the house style of my brand through references to the H&M collab and a competition to win tour tickets. I also want to include information about the history of the brand to create a connection with the target demographic. I will also feature a segment to purchase merchandise and therefore utilise commercial imperative to increase audience engagement. My website will also eature extra shots from the months editions to further reinforce the artists star persona whilst simultaneously humanising them. My planned intertextual references will further my engagement with the 16-29 year old audience and therefore satisfying the target audience

I intend to produce a house style through the use of synergy of my different products. To create synergy i intend to use a consistent colour scheme and font style across all products. Both of my contents page also feature links to my website to show digital convergence along with topics in my contents page also being featured on my website. Both my contents page and website feature links to social media pages. I will also feature a video from my cover stars to further the target audience engagement.
